We have had a request from Robert Carlisle in Australia about the Alexandra Park railway and an accident that occurred there. We know of two Alexandra Park railways in the UK, one in Hastings which can be found through their Facebook group (http://www.facebook.com/alexandrapark.miniaturerailway) and one that used to be by the boating lake at Alexandra Palace in North London.
If you can help Robert please email him and let the society know as well.
We carried a similar request about a year ago from Mick Berg who was able to say “The miniature railway in Alexandra Park, Wood Green, North London, (NB not the one in Hastings). This was a wonderful railway, running round the lake. I don’t know the gauge, but the loco was a model of a Gresley A4, diesel-electric I think. I can find no mention of it any where which is strange as it was a terrific railway. It ran from post-war until the early sixties.”
